Between May and September of 2019 at the|rock we are stacking hands to give above and beyond our regular giving in order to accomplish some important and exciting initiatives. Below you will find an outline of the three major facets of the campaign.

We are looking to repair or upgrade our facility, the largest need being our roof. In 2006, when the|rock was under construction, the zoning committee compelled the contractor to install a composition shingle roof which was supposed to last 30 years, as opposed to a metal roof. Over this past winter the roof has leaked to a great extent thereby jeopardizing the almost $800,000 worth of technical gear in the auditorium. Roofing companies have been consulted; the consensus is that it’s a roof failure. The failure could be the result of improper installation and/or product failure. There are two resolutions: 1) install a new composition roof (after first removing the existing), or 2) installing a metal roof over the existing composition material. The costs are virtually equal.

Estimated Total = $100,000

It is our passion to connect the unconnected to Christ, and being in the second most unchurched urban area in the nation, we have lots of opportunities to see lives made new as people follow Jesus. Creating an “attractional,”relevant, and high-quality Sunday morning experience for all ages will help us make a bigger impact and reach more families with the gospel. This would include video cameras and broadcasting equipment for the auditorium, A/V upgrades for Student Rock, and tech needs for Orange curriculum in Kidz Rock.

Estimated Total = $80,000

Looking outside of our own walls to how we can make a difference in our community is of high priority. We have the opportunity to impact two great local organizations in their effort to care for those in need.
RAVE - RAVE serves families with special needs by offering free respite sessions. We currently partner with RAVE, serving as a weekly local respite center. In order to serve more families, they will be opening a new Jr. & Teen center that will serve ages 7-22. This renovated space will allow them to add 80 additional respite sessions in the next year. Their total cost for renovations is close to $25,000, and we would like to contribute $15,000 towards that effort.
Project 150 - Project 150 is a charity focused on providing essential supplies to homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students, allowing them to focus on education and graduating high school. A major need that goes unmet is the supply of hygiene products. $10 provides hygiene products for a year for a student. We would like to impact 500 students by donating $5,000.

Estimated Total = $20,000
Total Goal = $200,000

We officially kick off the campaign on Sunday, May 5th when we all bring our completed pledge cards with our campaign commitment to church. We want everyone to participate, whether it's a small or large amount, every gift makes a difference. In the spirit of 100% participation, please be praying for what your contribution will be. If you would like more information on the campaign or need to pick up a pledge card, stop by the Difference Maker counter this Sunday, which is across from the Welcome Area. Your generous support helps ensure the success of our efforts to increase engagement at the|rock, connect the unconnected to Christ and make a difference in our community.
